Gabriola Land and Trails Trust

Being in natural and sunlight has major benefits for our health and wellbeing. We are fortunate on Gabriola to have good access to forests and shores. Gabriola Land & Trails Trust (GaLTT) aims to secure, develop, and sustain a network of parkland and trails on Gabriola Island for the benefit of the public, and to preserve sites of environmental, historical, and social importance.

Forest Bathing is a unique healthy living approach that aspires to the physical and spiritual benefits that comes from quietly being in the natural world. Watch for our promotions of these outings. GaLTT is currently (until April 19, 2019) conducting a public survey related to public access to parks, trails and beaches on Gabriola.

GaLTT wants to know what beach, park and trails improvements will most benefit our community. We will use your input in planning future projects to make Gabriola’s recreational areas more inclusive and welcoming to people of all abilities.

GaLTT is a membership and volunteer based organization. We suggest you visit our comprehensive website  to learn more about parks, trails and shore access on Gabriola. Our regular trail work bees provide an opportunity to get out in nature, meet new people and contribute to building and maintaining public trails. Your membership fees are treated as a charitable donation which goes towards ongoing programming and expenses.
